Missing Runner Found Dead, 1 in Custody

Sidney, Montana, public schools are confirming that missing runner and teacher Sherry Arnold, 43, is dead.  One person is in custody in connection with her disappearance, and another man is being questioned.

Arnold left home Saturday morning for a run and never returned.

The Sidney high school’s web site says authorities notified them of Arnold’s death at 9:30 this morning, after notifying her family.

Schools are dismissing in an hour as a result of the news, and counselors have been on hand for students, and parents were permitted to check their children out of their buildings if they desired. Sports activities scheduled for today have been cancelled.

Helena, Montana, CBS affiliate KXLH is reporting that a tip to the hotline set up to aid in the search for Arnold, let authorities to her body and the suspects.

Updates to follow as the FBI and local law enforcement is expected to provide more details later today.
